OFDA maintains a database of resumes to help match qualified individuals with interested firms. Just follow these easy steps:
Submit one clean copy of your resume to Oregon Funeral Directors Association. Include a cover letter specifying what type of position you are seeking (licensed or apprentice), along with any geographic preferences. (Important note for those interested in apprentice positions---NO PREVIOUS INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY.)

OFDA BACKGROUND CHECKS
1. The Oregon Funeral Directors Association must have your authorization to complete the necessary background checks in order to include your information in the OFDA Job Bank. This service is provided to our member funeral firms for employing apprentices and licensed funeral directors and embalmers. With this consent, you understand and are in agreement that OFDA may obtain your public record information. Please complete the necessary Authorization Form and Payment Form, and either mail or fax them to the OFDA Office as indicated on the forms. You will receive a copy of your background check once it is complete.
2. OFDA will distribute your resume on your behalf to interested funeral firms who, in turn, will contact you directly. At that time, the funeral firm will schedule an interview with you at a mutually-acceptable time.
3. Please call the OFDA office at (503) 639-1186 or (800) 304-5095 when you have accepted a position so that we can update our records and remove you from our database.
